Editor, Planning Team

Jenn Baljko

Nearly 30 years of journalism, writing, and editing experience have shown me the power of storytelling and what is possible when all people can speak their truth.

I am a mentor, speaker, teacher, and writer. I hold space for others to navigate their joy journeys through movement, meditation, memoir writing, creative expression, and personal reinvention.

University degrees in journalism and political science from Rutgers University shaped my initial path, but my focus on living life with an open heart, a curious mind, and eyes wide open have been the true sources of my accumulated knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.

I grew up in ethnically diverse Jersey City, New Jersey, as the first-generation U.S. daughter of an immigrant and a multi-generational descendent of European settlers to the Americas.

Now, living in Catalonia as a long-distance walker who completed a 3.5-year walk across Asia and Europe, I witness people’s behaviors, traditions, and motivations with softer eyes and deeper compassion. I am a work-in-progress, healing my own inherited and self-conceived race, class, and gender biases alongside ancestral beliefs that vibrated at a frequency lower than love.

What brings me to the Doctrine Dissolved team is a simple concept: “There is so much goodness in the world, but to see it, you first have to feel it in your heart.”
